Monthly Pamper Day - February

Being a busy person, it's difficult to find enough time to relax and be pampered. Each month, I treat myself to a couple of hours pampering at Monstudio in Sutton, Surrey and is run by the lovely Monika.

Yesterday (Saturday 16th Feb) was my February pamper session and additional my one-year anniversary with my Fiance. My pampering session consists of a mini pedicure, while I read a magazine and enjoy a cup of tea, a manicure, followed by a facial and finished off with a back and shoulder massage. Two hours of bliss for the amazing price of £55!

Yesterday I went for OPI Russian Navy for my Mani and Pedi colour (I love matching finger and toe nails!).

What are your monthly beauty/pampering treats?

February Glossy Box Review

Glossy Box Review - February 2013

I've finally got around to starting my blog! Hooray! For my first post, I'm reviewing the February Glossy Box. I've been a Glossy Subscriber for almost a year now, so this is my first Valentine's Box. Let's see what I received............

Packaging

I do get a little bit excited about a pretty box.  It makes a nice change from the standard plain boxes don't you think? I'm on the fence about the Valentine's box design though as I'm not really a pink, flowery kind of girl although it does look nice.
I'll add it to the pile of empty beauty boxes stacked up in the spare room/dressing room waiting for me to find a use for them!

Products

Micabella Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadow in shade 94 'Intelligence' - 1g pot worth £5.98 (£14.95 for 2.5g full size). I haven't heard of Micabella cosmetics before.

I don't wear much eye make-up except when I have a night out (which isn't all too often these days), but I do like this colour! It's fairly subtle, which is good as I would consider wearing it day or evening.

Anatomicals 'You Need A Blooming Shower' body cleanser - 150ml tube worth £2.50 (£5 for 300ml full size). I've received Anatomicals products in the past and have enjoyed using them. I like the packaging, simple, unfussy and to the point!

This is a rose fragranced body wash, which I'm sure I'll use even though I don't use floral fragrances, if not, I'll be giving it to my Mum as she loves things with a rose scent!

MeMeMe Cosmetics FatCat Lengthening Mascara - 8ml worth £7.99 (full size product). I'm a bit of a Mascara-slut as I never stick to the same brand. I always feel like I'm on the hunt for 'the one' and I've never tried this mascara so I'm looking forward to giving it a go! Who knows, maybe I'll get hooked!

The brush is nice and big so looks like it'll give good coverage and the description in the Glossy leaflet says it will 'create lashes full of volume and alluring depth'. I can't wait!

Sasson Salon Professional Illuminating Restore - 30ml worth £3.74 (£20.75 for 170ml full size). I'm due to be recolouring my hair (as soon as I find the time - blog post to follow for the Olia hair dye I'm going to try), so this will get used.

It's a weekly treatment for coloured hair and says it will 'deeply invigorate hair to restore strength  shine and moisture'. It smells nice and looks quite rich and thick so I'm looking forward to trying this out.

Miners Lip Colour in 'Dreamer' - £3.99 for 4g (no size on the packaging, but presume it's a full size lippy). I haven't opened this as, to be honest, I'm not sure I will use it as lipstick is the beauty product I am least likely to use, I much prefer lip gloss or a lip balm during the day.

It looks like a good shade choice for the Valentine's theme; a pearlescent pink. The leaflet says there are 12 shades available so I wonder if other box variations had different shades?

Glossy Extra - heart shaped lolly. Not much to say about this, it fits the box theme and I'm sure will be tasty when I get round to eating it!

Approximate Box Value - £24.20 (excluding lolly). Not a bad value box and overall not a bad selection of products. They all fit the Valentine's theme and it is nice to get a few make-up products to try as I have piles of face creams and masks to get through from recent boxes! I'm looking forward to my March box (although still have the excitement of the February Birchbox before then).
Thanks for reading my blog, please let me know what you think.
